The Gordon Research Seminar on Cell Biology of Metals is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas.
The focus of this inaugural GRS meeting is on the various roles of metal ions in health and disease. The sessions will focus on (i) the diverse roles of essential metal ions and the importance of metal homeostasis mechanisms in mammalian physiology, with a focus on metal-related disorders caused by homeostatic breakdown, and (ii) the battle for metal ions at the host-pathogen interface.
